Vardhaman College of Engineering was established in the year 1999 by Vardhaman Educational Society, Hyderabad. The following are the Core Team members of Vardhaman College of Engineering.

Dr S Sai Satyanarayana Reddy
Principal

 
  • To prepare all the agenda items, co-ordinate the conduct of meetings, record the minutes and arrange to follow-up all actions required
  • To provide leadership, guidance, help implementation and monitoring all the academic activities in compliance with the affiliated university
  • To conduct internal, end and other examinations
  • To initiate all the developmental activities, monitor the progress and report to the GC
  • To take specific initiatives to achieve long and short term goals of VCE and monitor the activity
  • To conduct the VCE DC meeting once a year and submit a report to GC
  • To ensure and receive all departmental budgets in the prescribed form by 15th Jan of every calendar year for the next academic year. To prepare the VCE budget by the end of January of that calendar year for approval taking into consideration the central requirements and those of various departments in the form of operational budget, maintenance budget and developmental budget
  • To ensure the preparation of reports on various activities and also the annual report of VCE
  • For student discipline and orderly running of VCE, for taking all the legal decisions in this regard and help of the disciplinary committee
  • For inculcating discipline, decency, decorum and order among the faculty and staff of VCE
  • To become responsible for the general amenities and arrangements for students and employees of VCE

  • To ensure that appropriate strategies and polices are in place to enable the Faculty to recruit and retain excellent researchers.
  • To develop an active research culture that fosters the highest achievements, encourages originality and innovation and enriches the student learning experience.
  • To capture detailed information of all research undertaken in the Faculty and to identify funding and knowledge transfer opportunities.
  • To promote research links and engagement within the Faculty, across VCE and with external organizations.
  • To evolve strategies to significantly grow the Faculty research income.
  • To ensure that systems are in place to maximize appropriate opportunities for the commercialization of research.
  • To implement campus-wide strategies and policies for research and to maximize the impact of research performed within the Faculty.
  • To identify new research opportunities that have potential for significant growth and to liaise with departments on associated grant and contract submissions.
  • To encourage academics to engage in multi-disciplinary research within the Faculty and externally with other organizations.
  • To increase external collaborative research and knowledge transfer activity regionally, nationally and internationally.
  • To work with the Heads of Departments to ensure the strongest possible submissions to the Research Excellence Framework.
  • To formulate Faculty responses to internal and external consultation papers relating to research.

  • To lead the development of college policy on postgraduate education.
  • To approve the appointment of internal and external examiners for PG degrees
  • To take the lead in the development of new programmes of postgraduate study
  • To make academic decisions involved in the process of examining and assessing the quality of projects done by the students by conducting colloquium mainly for dissertation of PG students.
  • To guide decisions relating to postgraduate student progress and take a leading role in monitoring postgraduate student progress at faculty level
  • To approve extensions and suspensions of postgraduate study
  • To liaise with Dean (Audit, Quality Control and Planning) and support implementation of their recommendations relating to postgraduate faculty quality.
