The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in 1999, and ever since is the most sought-after department of the institution. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers B.Tech in computer science and Engineering and M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. The B.Tech  programme is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) under the Tier-I category. The Department has always kept pace with the rapid advancements significant in the field.

The Department is known for its strength in Theoretical Computer Science, High-Performance Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, the Internet of Things, Data Science, Networking, Image Processing, Computer Vision and Cyber Security. The Department constitutes of qualified and expert faculty, a strong peer group, core, and inter-disciplinary research, and collaboration with leading industries and research organizations offering students an enriching learning experience to the students of this department.

The department is headed by Dr. Ramesh Karnati, a senior Professor with vast teaching experience spanning seventeen years.
