The contest is open to all students and employees on rolls of Vardhaman College of Engineering only.
Students/employees are allowed to participate individually or as a team.
The submission of entry is free.
Every participant can submit one entry only. Multiple entries from the same participant will not be considered and will be rejected.
Technical Criteria
The logo should be submitted in .jpeg or .png or .pdf format only.
The logo should be designed using colors. The logo shall be provided in both CYMK and RGB formats.
The size of the final design may vary from 4 cm x 4 cm to 60 cm x 60 cm.
The proposed Logo can be of any geometrical shape within the specified dimensions, as mentioned above. The above dimensions indicate only the minimum and maximum ‘frame’ sizes.
The Logo should be in high resolution with a minimum of 600 DPI and should look clean (not pixilated or bit-mapped) when viewed on-screen at 100% size.
The Logo should be designed on a digital platform. The winner of the competition shall be required to submit the design in open file format (EPS/CDR/PSD). Participants should ensure that original designs are submitted.
Entries should not be submitted in compressed or self-extracted formats.
The Logo design must be adaptable onto any form/surface and be usable on the website / social media such as Twitter/Facebook and on printed materials such as press releases, stationery, signage, banners, letterheads, flyers, posters, etc.
The logo design should not be imprinted or watermarked.
Every entry must be accompanied by a brief write-up/ explanation in a maximum of 200 words. This write-up has to be uploaded along with the proposed logo. The write-up should elaborate on the concept behind the Logo, which should be symbolic of the essence of the event.
During the course of an evaluation, contest organizers may ask participants to resubmit their entries in different size(s)/ format(s), etc., depending upon the requirement.
Participants must keep the native/editable/ open file format also ready – as it shall be required to be submitted later for the winning entry.
Intellectual Property Rights
The design of the logo must be an original work of creation, free from plagiarism or copyright violation of any kind.
The participant shall be solely responsible for any copyright violation or infringement of Intellectual copyright in making the logo.
Vardhaman College of Engineering shall not bear any responsibility in this regard and the participant shall indemnify the Vardhaman College of Engineering from any liability arising out of such violations, if any.
The logo must not contain any provocative, objectionable, or inappropriate content.
All entries are governed by the provisions of the Logos and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act, 1950, and any violation of the said Act will result in disqualification.
All entries will remain as the intellectual property of Vardhaman College of Engineering and are not returnable. The copyright of the logo, so submitted, shall rest with Vardhaman College of Engineering. Vardhaman College of Engineering shall have the right to use, reproduce, modify, publish, license, and/or otherwise deal with the logo submitted in the course of this competition.
The logo must be original and should not violate any provision of the Indian Copyright Act, of 1957.
The Vardhaman College of Engineering reserves the unfettered right to modify the prize-winning logo in any form.
The Vardhaman College of Engineering reserves the right to reject all the entries, if not found suitable.
Selection Criteria
The logo design should be the original work of the participant entering the contest.
All the entries received would be assessed by an empowered Committee at one or more stages, depending upon operational requirements.
Entries would be judged on the basis of various parameters which include elements of creativity, originality, composition, technical excellence, aesthetic qualities, simplicity, artistic merit, and visual impact, among others.
The decision of the Selection Committee would be final and binding on all the participants and no clarifications would be issued to any participants on any decision of the Selection Committee.
Other Terms and Conditions
The responsibility to comply with the guidelines and other conditions fully lies with the participant and Vardhaman College of Engineering shall not be liable for any dispute raised by a third party.
Vardhaman College of Engineering reserves the right to cancel or amend all or any part of the competition and/or the rules and guidelines. The participants are required to visit the Vardhaman College of Engineering website https://go.vardhaman.org/LogoDesign25 for any updates related to this competition.
In the event of selection of the logo for silver jubilee celebration of Vardhaman College of Engineering, the creator of the logo shall be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/-.
Any legal proceedings arising out of these competition/its entries/winners shall be subject to local jurisdiction.
