About Program

The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers M. Tech (Engineering Design), a two-year full time postgraduate programme with an intake of 18 duly approved by AICTE since the academic year 2012-13.

The objective of the programme is to train the students in Engineering Design field by imparting training on the engineering design methods, analysis tools and manufacturing processes to help the students to become powerful practitioners of advanced areas in product designing in order to cater to the contemporary needs of the industry.

Program Overview

  1. PEO-I: To produce post-graduate engineers to participate in innovative and integrative activities desired for modern design engineering by developing their competencies and contemporary technical skills.
  2. PEO-II: To make post-graduate engineers proficient in contributing at a level of research and development in the fields of advanced engineering design of mechanical engineering systems
  3. PEO-III: To make post-graduate engineers develop life skills to become professional design engineers, administrators, or academicians and engage in lifelong learning by adopting techno-social developments of the nation.
  1. PO1: An ability to independently carry out research/investigation and development work to solve practical problems
  2. PO2: An ability to write and present a substantial technical report/document.
  3. PO3: Students should be able to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area as per the Engineering Design program. The mastery should be at a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate bachelor program.
  4. PO4: An ability to apply knowledge of experimental skills and mathematical techniques of engineering design for the solutions of the latest manufacturing and industrial problems.
  5. PO5: An ability to contribute in the areas of interdisciplinary engineering problems through continual learning.
